ok. ooookay! that's effing impossible! seriously!

the fat dead dude, is pulled up OVER 7' OFF THE FLOOR! by one rope, with NO PULLIES! whacks the bloody back of his head against the fan's center, and chokes to death because of one guy's weight on the other end of the rope. that guy, is probably more than 50 lbs. LIGHTER than the fat dead dude.

physics lesson ladies and gentlemen. objects at rest tend to stay at rest (object in question, fat guy). unless acted upon by a force equal to or GREATER than the mass of the object (second force, gravity pulling towards the center of the Earth upon the thief aka the thief's weight). gravity is a constant on Earth. it decreases only upon significant elevation above sea-level. we're talking miles, not a smidge over 3 stories.

so, the force of gravity pulling upon the fat guy is slightly higher because he's fat, he has more mass. the guy going down the rope has a smidge of acceleration due to the gas pipe breaking and the rope no longer assisting the thief in descending and defying (somewhat) the force of gravity. but! the rope (acceleration of the thief's fall) stops!!! because the fat guy grabs it.

so. the force of the weight of the thief is transferred imperfectly into the rope and pulls on the fat guy. even IF the fat guy slipped and choked he WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PULLED INTO THE AIR! the thief on the other end of the rope would have had to weigh TWICE what the fat guy did to YANK! the fat guy off the floor and up into the air and against the fan.

so unless the thief is entirely made of lead suddenly. or picks up mysteriously enough weight to yank that fat dude up into the air... that was an IMPOSSIBLE DEATH!

at most? it would have choked the fat dead dude AGAINST the wall, depending on how he slipped. fat guy might have died, or he might not have.

NOOO !!!!!!!! This had no business being this tragic !! I thought it was nice of the thief to go back to the office to check on him even tho that would make him a major suspect, and I was touched that Tanizaki tried to save the man that assaulted him… just for it to end like that….
